Before hurricane impact windows, traditional methods of hurricane protection in Florida included boarding up windows with plyboard or using metal shutters or accordion shutters.  Plyboard offers little protection and can be daunting to install and remove. Metal hurricane shutters offer more protection than plyboard, but they are even more difficult to install and remove. Accordion shutters are simple to use once in place, but they affect the look of a property.
